Biography

I am a New York State Board Certified Diplomate, BCD and Licensed New York State Clinical Social Worker, LCSW (which is generally recognized as the highest clinical degree). I have been in private practice for over 20 years and have extensive clinical experience in treating a wide range of problems and clinical disorders.

I received my graduate degree (MSW) Masters in Social Work (Cum Laude) from New York University and then went on to receive my postgraduate analytic training in a variety of advanced training institutes and organizations. I am experienced in the practice of intensive and brief psychotherapy. My specialties include individuals, couples, trauma and Integrative Therapeutic Coaching.

My advanced training includes:
Board Certified Diplomat (BCD) that is a certification by the American Board of Examiners that oversees and mandates the highest level of ethics, confidentiality, effectiveness, advanced treatment and diagnostic skills and continued formal education.

TRISP...Training and Research Institute for Contemporary Relational Self psychology with a concentration on “self”, contemporary relational psychology, attachment and intersubjective perspectives working with individuals, couples and groups.

NIP...National Institutes for Psychotherapies Trauma Program that enables clinicians to integrate contemporary theory in neuroscience and practice in traumatology into their psychodynamic work and clinical skills. Worked with survivors of 9/11 and the intergenerational transmission of trauma.

PPSC...Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center which offers an eclectic approach to understanding individual and couples development, stages of change, defenses, attachment, development of the “self” and understanding of core issues, blocking beliefs, as well as, a thorough education in normal and pathological development.

Ackerman Institute for the Family...Current thinking and research in helping heterosexual, gay and lesbian couples, married or in committed relationships deal with infidelity, destructive forms of communications, intimacy and sexual problems. Coaching couples in ways to preserve the strength of their relationship while meeting the challenges that life brings.

EMDR...Participated in advanced training and consultation in transforming trauma experience into a natural adaptive processing mechanism by freeing up behaviors, beliefs and symptoms and reestablishing a sense of self.
